Sometimes, it's not because we want to do something that we can do it. If we want to fly, for example, even if we try really hard, it will not happen.
During my trips, I realized that for some people, discovering the world is a dream impossible like the one of flying like a bird is for all of us.
One day, I was hiking in Cambodia. I saw small villages made of field paths and simple houses. And just before leaving, while we were eating a sandwich, because he was curious, the guide asked us how much it was for a plane ticket to Canada. When we told him, he was really impressed, and he realized that he would never see Canada.
Years later, in a small village of South Africa, I met Mosike, an old woman curious like a child. Under a baobab, she asked: "How do you take the plane, you just sit down and you wait? How about the snow, does it hurts or is it possible to touch it? Well, you know, I'll never be able to go, so it's better for me asking you all that... And your grand-mother, she looks like me?"
Every time, it's a shock for me because between those moments, I forget that sometimes, it's not enough to want.
Even here, it's not possible for everyone to leave. I mean, it's necessary to keep money, to be prepared, to ask for holidays... But for the majority of us, we know that after that, it will be possible to taste new things, to see places we don't know, to discover the world.
The chance we have, it's important that we don't forget it. Now, when I travel, I see partly for the guide I met in Cambodia, and I taste dishes for Mosike.
While waiting that traveling is possible for everyone, let's dream about what life would be if everyone could fly and travel:
